We have tasted the Dark Lord...

...and he is delicious...to Chris. As for me...He's a bit too strong (stout-wise and alcohol-wise), but I did enjoy the run-off beer of Dark Lord which was nicely named -- "Slave Princess." Our adventure to Munster, IN held many surprises, but, in the end, was a great success:

The boys - each with a case of Dark Lord

Surprise #1: The second best beer in the world is located in the middle of an industrial park in Munster, IN.

Surprise #2: As we were approaching our destination, our friend Brent made the speculation that a beer event like this could bring 20 people or it could bring 1,000s. Turned out, it leaned more towards the 1,000s! We arrived to find a long line of people (all for purchasing ONE beer!) in which we stood for 3 hours to purchase from a nearly depleted pile of cases. We were considered one of the lucky ones.
Surprise #3: Kendra got carded - BIG TIME! Enjoy these moments, Kendra!
Surprise #4: There is an excellent brewery 20 miles away called Flossmoor Station Brewery that was recommended by this wonderful couple who stood in front of us (see picture of Jen above). Since Three Floyd's was a bit crazy with the crowd, we ventured over to Flossmoor for one of the best dining and drinking experiences I have had in awhile! Picture highlights:

"The Sampler"
"The Married Table"
The other half of the party

The rumor is that The Dark Lord sells on eBay for $300/bottle - so if a Google search has led you to my blog, please leave a comment, and I can arrange to drive a bottle to your house for $300 (cash only!). I just need to drug my husband to make my escape out the door, but I will get you your Dark Lord, if you pay the right price.

PS - For some more pics on our fun weekend, check out the link to Kendra's blog!

Ah, beer. The wine of the new millenium.

Tell those turkeys at "the other table" to drink a little less before they are required to operate heavy machinery such as your camera.

Hurray Dark Lord! Luckily, most of the surprises turned out to be good instead of bad.
